Construction of the first house on St. Lucia built with Merkel Composite Technology, Inc. C-Sip panels was completed in23 days.  There are plans for 48 more homes in this development.

Below are pictures showing the progress of the project from start to finish.

Hurricane Tomas hit the island at the end of October with winds up to 100 mph, knocking out electricity to the entire island. But the structure suffered no damage and construction continued the next day, using a small portable generator.

On this foundation, a finished, super-insulated and hurricane resistant home was built in less than a month's time. The construction crew consisted of 4 workers and some basic construction equipment. No specialized machinery was required,  as the light weight panels can be easily carried by just 2 workers.

The finished home will be coated with a "green" stucco coating from ErrthFlex that is 100% UV coated and colorized so it will never need painting. It will not crack and is made from recycled tires (crumb rubber). The black trim for this 100% "green" home is plastic lumber.

Our team of 4 workers finished the exterior of the house in just 23 days, including 3 days in which Hurricane Tomas wracked the island with winds up to 100 mph. The finished cost, including tile floors and all electrical and plumbing work, was under $40.00 per square foot.
